Precaution (S)PMU

The information below contains all the information to inform you as best as possible about this treatment. In this I have included both the precaution before treatment takes place, as well as disorders, which you should take into account that treatment may not always be possible.

PRECAUTION (SEMI) PERMANENT MAKEUP

Within 2 weeks prior to treatment:

  • Do not dye eyebrows and eyelashes.

  • No sun or solarium cure

  • No chemical peels

  • No skin thinning agents on the eyebrow skin (glycolic acid, vitamin A, peels).

Within 48 hours before the treatment:

  • No eyebrow waxing or plucking.

  • No blood thinning drugs. Always consult your doctor first!

  • No aspirin, ibuprofen, alcohol or drugs. (Paracetamol is allowed.)

Within 24 hours before the treatment:

  • No Caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea, energy drinks etc.

Day of treatment:

  • Don't use foundation and makeup.

  • Do not bring other clients or children to the treatment.

  • If you normally draw or re-draw your eyebrows, you can also do this when you come for the treatment. This is especially nice if you want a specific shape. This way I get a good idea of what you want. Then we will create and determine the perfect shape together before we start the treatment.

  • During your menstrual period, the skin may be slightly more sensitive. Paracetamol mag.

You can order Emla cream (lidocaine ointment) through your GP. Emla cream is an anesthetic ointment that you should bring with you. The legal regulations are that we are not allowed to apply this cream as it is an anesthetic. You can do that yourself.

Bring a cooling mask if necessary. You can use this to cool down after your treatment to reduce/prevent any swelling.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

There are situations where Semi Permanent Make-up is not recommended. In the following situations it is important to consult with the doctor before undergoing treatment:

  • Hemophilia or other blood clotting diseases

  • Chronic skin diseases

  • (contact) allergies

  • immune disorder

  • Cardiovascular abnormalities

  • Use of blood thinners or anticoagulants. With blood thinners, it is sometimes possible to temporarily lower the dose before treatment. Discuss this with your doctor first.

  • Pregnancy and period of breastfeeding

  • Diabetes: in diabetes it is possible to have PMU if the diabetes is stable and the healing process of the skin is not affected.

  • Skin problems around the area to be treated such as swelling or other forms of irritation.

  • Alcohol consumption: you are not allowed to drink alcohol 24 hours before the treatment (This has a blood thinning effect.)

  • Antibiotic treatment: 2 weeks after the treatment, the treatment can take place.

  • Chemotherapy, the treatment can take place before or after the treatment course. (Oncologist's permission only.)

I work according to the GGD guidelines and I have a GGD permit. The chance of an allergic reaction / infection is very small by using these guidelines. There are few known cases of allergic reactions to pigments, so it is not considered necessary to perform a patch test before treatment. This is possible on request. Of course you are expected to adhere to the aftercare instructions as much as possible in order to minimize any risks. Unfortunately, getting an allergic reaction can never be completely ruled out. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
